Allen Shoff passionately believes that Idaho’s citizens deserve zealous advocacy on their behalf. Idahoan by choice, Allen is thrilled every day that he has the privilege to live in beautiful northern Idaho. Born and raised in Ohio, Allen attended Hillsdale College, where he graduated cum laude with a B.A. and honors in History in 2011. As he searched for the best place to make his home, he settled on northern Idaho, and applied for and began law school at the University of Idaho College of Law immediately after concluding his undergraduate studies. He married his college sweetheart Mary Claire after his first year at law school and earned his J.D. in 2013.
After a period of pro bono service with the Clearwater County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, he accepted a position at the Canyon County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office in October 2013, where he served for five years as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney—two as a criminal prosecutor, and three as an assistant county attorney handling contract negotiations, public records issues, and large-scale tax assessment litigation. As a criminal prosecutor he juggled a caseload in excess of one thousand cases a year on behalf of the City of Nampa and argued multiple jury trials at both felony and misdemeanor levels. He joined Post Falls Law in July 2018 and is excited to use his knowledge and experiences to serve clients throughout northern Idaho.
Above all, Allen loves spending time with his wife and four children. He is an active parishioner at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Coeur d’Alene, an avid woodworker, musician, and computer programmer, and will happily talk anyone’s ear off about a wide range of subjects, from rocketry to ancient history.
